I am working on a Waltham 14s pocket watch in a Dennison silver case and have discovered the stem sleeve has lost two of its jaws which accounts for it popping into the set position by itself. Is there any chance of finding a replacement sleeve in the UK? I have seen some miscellaneous collections on E-bay but cannot determine whats there.Mar 25, 2024. #1. If it broke at the land for the detent pin, that is a sizeable job as the watch has to come partly to pieces to get the barrel bridge off so the broken stem can be retrieved. If it is the threads of the stem that broke, and part of the threads are still sticking out, that will be a simpler repair. If it is the DETENT that broke, that's trouble!
