This new and improved fixed bezel is highly scratch-resistant, excellently resists corrosion and impervious to the color fading effects of UV rays.The Cosmograph Daytona is driven by calibre 4131, a chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Released in 2023, it was introduced on the model the same year and exclusively equips this watch. It incorporates a chronograph function with a reduced number of components, thereby also enhancing the movement’s reliability.
Both watches are crafted in 18 ct white gold and crowned with a bezel set with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds. The first version, fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet, features a dial in white mother-of-pearl with chronograph counters in black mother-of-pearl. It uses a new monobloc Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic with an updated tahcymeter design, shedding the older engraved metal bezel. It’s still got the calibre 4130 movement, but is now tested by Rolex to +2/-2 seconds per day accuracy, which is super impressive for a mass produced chronograph. The new Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126500LN in Oystersteel is now part of the permanent collection; the older generation has been officially discontinued. This new model is priced at EUR 14,950 ( 300 euros more than the 116500LN in early 2023 ).These include cutting-edge technologies, with its tachymetric scale now moulded into the high-tech ceramic Cerachrom bezel insert, and gemmology and gem-setting, particularly on versions with a gold bezel set with 36 sapphires in a rainbow-like colour gradation.
