I've tried the white dial on. It's very flat and didn't honestly do anything for me. Out of the two, silver for me. It's a more interesting dial (although I do like the romans on the white). The silver essentially replaces the white dial found on the OP 39, but more on that in a minute. There are also brighter options, including the new turquoise, coral red, yellow, green, and sunburst blue that debuted across the OP collection this year.The discontinued stainless steel Datejust II reference, the Rolex 116300 does offer a few different dial options that are currently not available for the Datejust 41 ref. 126300. Some examples include the black dial with painted Roman numerals and the silver dial with blue Arabic numerals.
If you didn’t see them in person, worth noting that the silver is a sunburst dial, whereas the white is one uniform colour (but still highly reflective). In that sense the silver has more depth to it, whereas the white is a bit more obvious.
It has an open creamy white dial with applied gold batons to mark the hours and a "roulette" date window that showed even days in red and odd days in black. There was no cyclops magnifier in the crystal at this time – that would be another Rolex first, introduced on the Datejust in . Rolex appears to have been accomplished by infusing a bit of silver in the dial to tone the whiteness down.
