This technique avoids an issue where the heat from the coating process melts the glue under the cyclops and causes some small bubbles or other artfacts to appear between the cyclops and crystal. Apparently cheaper crystals + cyclops (with cheaper glue) are more prone to this potential flaw. The black hole effect is 96% GEN-like imho. The crystal is extremely clear (especially with the added AR coating). The LEC (laser etched crown) is present at the 6’o clock, aligns well enough.
