In this competitive set, the 882O bell is significantly larger than the standard 8 1/2, giving it a more open sound.
Yamaha Xeno Comparison. We took the opportunity of having all three Yamaha Xeno tenor trombones (YSL-882O, YSL-882GO and YSL-882OR) to play them side by side. What do you hear between.Yamaha YSL-882GO Xeno Professional Trombone Features: Professional level tenor trombone with F attachment; 0.547-inch bore transmits a warm, symphonic tonal quality; Open-wrap F attachment for a barely there playing feel; 1-piece, 8-2/3-inch, gold brass bell flaunts a massive sound and colorful harmonics
In my opinion, the 882O is the brighter horn with a little more punch in the articulation. The 882OR played a little bigger and darker for me, with more covered articulations. I was very excited when they came out with an 882OR with a gold brass bell. I tried a YSL-882GO with gold brass bell on Saturday and in the short time I had with it noticed very little difference between its sound and the sound of my Conn 88H from 1993. Maybe an ever-so-slightly superior responsiveness and clarity with my triple-tonguing exercises, but that was about it.Shop for the Yamaha YSL-882O Xeno Series F-Attachment Trombone in Lacquer Gold Brass Bell and receive free shipping and guaranteed lowest price.
